Hello all, Tuesday is here and as promised, so is my post about my weekend trip to the IMM Cologne 2014 this past weekend ! Read on to find out more about the BLOGST Lounge, see some highlights and find out this year’s interior design trends…
My interior design blogging friends Ricarda from 23qmstil and Igor from Happy Interior Blog had the brilliant idea to organise the very first blogger tour of the IMM Cologne, the yearly international furnishing trade show. They brought together 25 German design and lifestyle bloggers and eight exclusive sponsors (Auping, Association of the German Wallpaper Industry, Grohe, Lago, Piure, Muuto, Stoll /Hay Showroom, Vapiano) for an innovative design tour that will hopefully lead the way for more such cooperations to come!
Our first stop of the day was Auping, the popular Dutch bed manufacturer, with locations in various European countries, including Belgium, Denmark and Spain and a company history dating back to 1888 !! I have been dreaming about their famous box springs beds forever and it was a pleasure to see them up close and finally test one !
On our next stop we stopped at one of the funkiest booths of this year’s trade show – the Association of the German Wallpaper Industry‘s blue room, made to look like a mosaic of broken pieces of old Delft pottery… take a look at the fun design below !
Lago, our next sponsor hosted the most delicious lunch, prepared exclusively for us right there at IMM Cologne and served by the most charming, authentic Italian chef imaginable ! What a yummy treat that was and it doesn’t hurt that I am just in love with their interior designs…
Okay, I hate to be partial but one of my favorite sponsors was Muuto, the still fairly new Danish design company that has brocken into the interior design market with a force and whose designs I have been admiring for quite some time. I will be using a few of their furniture design pieces in Nick and Charlie’s new room and will share much more about that with you very soon !!
The last stop of our blogger tour was the gorgeous Stoll Shop, featuring Scandinavian interior design by one of my current must have companies – Hay ! They kindly opened their doors for us after hours and let us go wild, snap a million photos and answered all our burning interior design questions !
Last but not least, here are some Instagram impression from the trade fair for you, followed by my personal trend predictions for the SS season 2014…
Something I noticed everywhere during our design tour was the color yellow. As you might have spottet in the photos above, accent pieces in a bold, sunny yellow could be found almost everywhere and I can definitely see monochrome interiors mixed with spots of bright yellow here and there making a comeback this Spring – which made me kind of happy, because that is exactly my color scheme for Nick’s and Charlie’s new room…
