Last week I wrote about Meet The Blogger London and if you somehow got the impression that being a blogger is all fun and games, here is something to show you that our species never sleeps, never rests, never takes a time-out from scouting trends and searching for future blog posts ideas… 😉
On my only free day in London, I grabbed my trusty DSLR and visited as many shops and markets as I could possibly fit into just one day, always on the look-out for pretty things to inspire me and great finds I could tell you about ! On a especially chilly London morning I found myself at the Old Spitalfields Market – a colourful place full of unique, wonderous things and interesting people to talk to. The cutest little wooden birds caught my eyes here and luckily for me Anna Wiscombe, the artist behind these unique Wall Birds, was right there to answer my questions herself.
London-based artist Anna Wiscombe produces whimsical lines of wooden products that are full of intricate details and have their own special character. Her collections mirror her love of nature but with a sightly contemporary edge to it. Something that makes her work even more unique is the fact that all of Anna’s work is lovingly handmade by her and no two pieces will ever be the same!
The pieces from Anna’s The Lullabaloo Range above would look great in a nursery and I immediately fell in love with her Wall Birds families – in fact one of them is now proudly displayed on a wall in our living room and my kids just love to tell visitors that each little bird represents one of us… The owl chalkboards would be a perfect addition to any country kitchen and Anna’s brooches and necklaces would surely make any mom happy – take a look and let me know what you think ! 🙂
